Our History
Founded in 1987 in a modest unit in Saffron Walden, Essex, Cambridge Rapid has evolved over the past three decades into a highly capable and trusted precision metalwork manufacturer. By the end of 2018, our operations had grown to occupy three interconnected units on the Shire Hill Industrial Estate.
In 2019, we relocated to a purpose-built facility in Haverhill, Suffolk — a strategic move supported by the Suffolk Growth Fund. This modern site brought all operations under one roof and enabled significant investment in advanced laser cutting systems and a state-of-the-art folding machine with full offline programming capabilities. These enhancements have dramatically increased our production capacity and allowed us to offer shorter, more competitive lead times to our customers.
